Red Hot Chili Peppers did Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Common had Electric Wire Hustle Flower. Then Gwen Stefani had Love. Angel. Music. Baby. I was like, I’m gonna pick out 4 words and make a song of them. So what was I thinking on this one? It might have been about the importance of having balance in so many different areas of life. Then I might have just thought of Carly Patterson as someone who has good balance literally. Maybe.
Or maybe not.
I watch about a week’s worth of gymnastics every four years. But there’s something about what Carly did on that beam in Athens that makes me think of that moment every time I hear the word PERFECTION.
A mind so clear, yet so focused. A feat so arduous, performed so effortlessly. Words cannot describe, their power exiguous. So I thought for this, words don’t matter. I’ll think of nothing, breathe deeply, start talking, hope for the best. For this, I’ll just live.
What was I thinking on this one? You decide.
